Slot Canyon

This replica slot canyon was meticulously sculpted to blend with the natural rock formations of the area. This feature simulates the iconic slot canyons found throughout Southern Utah and creates unique microclimates for plant life.

The steep walls of slot canyons provide shade during the hottest parts of the day providing a cooler, more protected environment. Plants that might otherwise struggle in the harsh, dry conditions of the desert are able to thrive in these locations.

Similarly, the east and north sides of buildings provide shade from the hot afternoon sun. These microclimates are ideal for landscape plants that need a little more protection on our hottest days.
