Dinosaur Tracks #22

Swimming sauropodomorph dinosaurs

The very large three to four-toed scrape marks on the slabs in front of you are unique to this site. These large toe marks were likely made by swimming ancestors of sauropod dinosaurs. Sauropods are famously known from the Late Jurassic of Utah and include dinosaurs such as Apatosaurus, Camarasaurus, and Diplodocus. These swim traces are currently being studied by paleontologists from the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site.
