Dinosaur Tracks #17

Swimming theropod dinosaurs.

These scrape marks represent evidence of small meat-eating dinosaurs similar to Coelophysis from the Late Triassic, and Megapnosaurus from the Early Jurassic. These kinds of traces were made by animals buoyed up and swimming in the water. If their toe tips touched the muddy bottom, they would produce one to three sets of parallel toe traces in trackways.
